Tanglewood Youth Theatre Workshops

This winter, Asheville Community Theatre is offering something new! In order to better serve the homeschooling community in WNC, we are offering Tanglewood Youth Theatre classes during the day! Classes meet on Mondays from 1:00-2:30 pm January 22 through March 19, 2007 at Asheville Community Theatre, located in the heart of downtown Asheville. Each class is $150 for the nine week session, which includes a $50 nonrefundable deposit due at registration. The balance must be paid before the first class.

Classes

Acting 1 - Unleash your imagination through theatre games, pantomime, and storytelling. We'll use improvisation and scripted pieces for this introductory class. When we add in a little singing and a little dancing, we'll have a well-rounded performance! A fun class for the actor who's just beginning, or a young actor with some experience. Ages 6-10. Taught by Lindsay Garner

Acting 2 - This class explores more complex characters and dialogue. We'll do improv, pantomime, theatre games, and movement. We'll also get started with scenes and monologues. We'll add costume pieces, basic props, and talk about auditioning and directing! Ages 11 and up. Taught by Lysa Kennedy.
